Nutrition for Disability Management

Research shows that Registered Dietitian-led lifestyle interventions reduce the risk of lost work days by over 64% and disability days by over 87%

Disability Management

Registered Dietitians are an essential part of the Disability Management healthcare team for employees off work due to injury or illness. This is especially the case for employees whose claims are complicated by chronic diseases including obesity or being overweight, diabetes, high blood pressure and/or cardiovascular disease. Dietitians are also an effective support for clients with depression, helping them to take an active role in their rehabilitation. We empower clients to improve their health, understand the impact of medication treatment on measurable outcomes, and align their physical and mental health within a recovery context.

Our team of Registered Dietitians are highly skilled and trained to assess both physical and mental health related factors. We effectively communicate best clinical practice recommendations to clients, as well as to collaborate with other members of the disability management team. Our Dietitians build upon the recommendations of the medical team, other allied health professionals, as well as liaise with case workers. We help to effectively manage treatment and a timely recovery within insurers' return-to-work goals.
